About Our Brewery Tour

New Orleans Brewery Tour Bus 12 CoachNew Orleans’ Original Brewery Tour is all about having a great time, getting to learn about the brewing process and history of brewing in New Orleans, and, of course, sampling some damn fine beer!

Our tour begins with a hotel pickup in our brand new van, and then the fun begins. Since all of the breweries that we tour are within 2 miles of downtown New Orleans, our travel time is virtually nonexistent.

Courtyard Brewing

Our first stop is Courtyard Brewery. Founded in 2014 by Scott Wood, Courtyard is a Nano Brewery that utilizes a three-barrel brewing system. We start you off  easy with a cold, 4-6 oz beer sample, and then a tour of their three-barrel system located just behind the bar.

After getting your second 4-6oz beer sample at Courtyard, be sure to check out the patio or chat with their knowledgeable bartenders before heading on to the next brewery.

Courtyard also features rare and one-off beers sent by craft breweries from around the country, which means they cannot sell their beer off-site.They brew approximately 100-150 barrels per year, as compared to the thousands produced annually by larger microbreweries. Courtyard doesn’t offer flagship beers, instead they feature a wide and ever-changing variety of beer.

Urban South Brewery

Up next is Urban South Brewery.  Founded in 2016 by Jacob Landry, Urban South Brewery is New Orleans’ newest brewery. Here, we’ll keep things moving with an ice cold 4-6oz beer sample, and then a tour of their shiny new custom brewing setup, followed by another 4-6oz beer sample!

Urban South Brewery’s brewing system was designed to combine the heritage of European beer making with the brashness of new American styles. Located in a converted warehouse in the Irish Chanel, this microbrewery currently brews two beers year round and offers a variety of seasonal options.

NOLA Brewing Company

nola brewery company logoOur final stop of the day is at New Orleans largest brewery, NOLA Brewing. Founded in 2009 by Kirk Coco, NOLA Brewing was the first commercial brewery to operate within the city of New Orleans following the closure of the Dixie Brewing Company facility after Hurricane Katrina in 2005.

At NOLA, they literally hand us the key to the brewery, where you will get a behind the scenes tour of the brewery floor. Afterward, we make a stop in their tap room to finish strong with two Full Beers! If you’ve worked up an appetite from all that beer, McClure’s Barbecue is also available for purchase.

NOLA Brewing Company beers are currently served in bars throughout the Southeast United States, and available in grocery stores throughout Louisiana. NOLA Brewing Company currently brews 7 beers year round, and offers a wide variety of seasonal options.
